Friday's Fabulous Fannies

OK, so I admit it. I like big butts. (You can go ahead and start singing the song. You know it is going through your head.) Maybe I should rephrase that. I like my children's bums. I love it that Lily's little bum is so chubby. I love it that Anna happily and unabashedly runs around the house "streaking". Both my kids LOVE being nekkid. So, for your Friday viewing pleasure, here is a photo of John with a sweet, nekkid Lillian and a photo of Anna sneaking up on us so she can streak. Life. is. Good.

Anatomy of a BAD hair day

Can you believe that I just got this mop cut? Anna has beautiful curly hair but boy when it is unruly it is REALLY unruly. This is her this evening after I took her ponytail out. I am not sure that Don King knows that Anna stole his hairstyle. Sometimes it kinda reminds me of one of those Troll dolls. I wonder if they still make the FLO-bee?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JOHN.

Wow, want to talk about time flying? John and I have been together for a long time but today marks our 5 year anniversary. A lot has happened in those five years. Some wonderful and some sad but for me, things are always easier because I have John along for the ride. We are likely not going out to celebrate this year given my flu/pneumonia but it will still be a wonderful day since we are all together. I tried to tell John that the 5 year anniversary is the DIAMOND anniversary. He just chuckled and said, " nope, the gift that you are supposed to give on the 5 year anniversary is WOOD". I won't repeat what John said after that because this is a family-kind-of-blog. (He may divorce me after seeing that I actually wrote that!). So, here I say thank you to my wonderful husband, my best friend and my partner. I also want to say thanks to all our family and friends out there that help support our marriage and our sweet little family. I love you, John.

Do you remember when...

You could be this happy just because you made a tent out of blankets on the couch? (Yes, that is chocolate on her face on 8 pm. And no, I haven't brushed her hair all day. What of it?)

You heart raced just because you heard that familiar jingle of the ice cream truck?

McDonald's was a real treat not just somewhere that you had to stop at quickly while on the road?

A playground was a magical place that you longed for?

Your mom could ACTUALLY make things stop hurting with a kiss?

The very threat of Santa NOT coming was enough to bring you to tears?

All animals were friends?

Getting stopped in front of the train tracks because of a train crossing was the greatest thing that happened to you all day instead of the curse-evoking time suck that your mother insisted it was?

Every kid your age was your best friend?

You wouldn't eat anything during your meal but you would it all if your Dad cut it up and called it a "snack"

You always won at Candy Land?

Rooms were scary because they were dark?

Running naked through the house yelling "streaking" was the funniest thing. Ever.

You wanted to be a princess when you grew up.

Your idea of a great meal is anything that comes with a toy.

Sometimes John and I have to stop ourselves and remember that being three years old really is pretty doggone magical. We are trying to make sure that Anna enjoys every single day of it.
